Private purchase mauser 98 bayonet with Birdhead pommel, chequered horn grips held by two rivetts. Conjoiuned 'King's Head' and 'Knight's Head' trade marks, for Kirschbaum/Weyersberg, but no other markings. Complete in incorect blued steel scabbard, probably for a Spanish Mauser.

Mauser 1888/1898 Ersatz bayonet

308mm single edged unfullered, inspector mark to blade back near hilt
steel

all steel construction, painted green some time past. 313mm blade with half round round fuller. Grip with transverse round oil/cleaning hole. Very clean and good condition though repainted. Scabbard with pointed end.
